Ordered Deluo mouse GPS for my Dell Axim, but I have only bitmap maps for my area. What software you can suggest me to use with my bitmap maps ? I have enough time to draw new maps or convert these to vector format. |

You could hunt for maps around the internet, or failing that, do you have a large supply of paper maps and a flatbed scanner ? This will probably be your best way of getting digital maps, but you will need to calibrate at least 3 points, so you'll need to either know the co-ordinates of specific locations you may be able to find these on the internet or by using another PC mapping tool if you have any for your area, or you can visit 3 or more points around a map and calibrate it by mapping the co-ordinates to the maps. |

Thanks, Dave!
Best I can do is scan my paper maps and calibrate them by visiting and adjusting coordinates. What is the best software you can recommend me to use with Deluo and Axim ? Maybe something instead Deluo ? What is the best solution for car navigation ? |

I'd recommend using either Fugawi or OziExplorer for scanned maps.
They won't give you street routing with directions. You'll only get this in a proper street routing program with supplied maps (which I think you'll have problems with in Azerbaijan). |

Thanks a lot!
I'll start with Ozi and we will see.
By the way, can you suggest me what GPS for in-car navigation and where in UK (London) I can buy it ?
I am looking for mouse-type or standalone unit with PDA connection feature (Dell Axim) |

Your best bet would be to take a look at our Hardware Reviews, Software Reviews and Bundle Reviews. Most of the UK Street Routing software is pretty good, but it depends on what features you're looking for. For hardware performance check out our TTFF Page and also the Hardware Comparison Page. We also have a list of advertisers on our main news page and all review pages (far right) where most products can be purchased from, and there's also a Purchase GPS Systems page. |
