I noticed in an article on here about speed cameras for the Palm platform that it said they were free from the TomTom site. I went to have a look and they, if I am looking at the right ones, are priced at about £40! Surely these are not the ones the article means?
I have the speed camera download from this site but in Tom Tom Go 300, I got the warning in the left hand corner that I approaching the camera but in Tom Tom 5, I get or appear to get very little. Perhaps a box round the camera only. I think I have all the options ticked in the preferences.
Can anyone enlighten me please?

Have you allocated a sound file against the Safety camera POI?

I have used the beep, bong option, if that's what you mean. I'm more concerned with the red box in the left hand corner which I had on the TTG 300. I am using TTN5 with a Treo 650.

If I remember correctly, it counts down the distance on my TT5, I have the distance set at 300 yrds - I started with a lot less originally and the box in the top left did not appear....

Steve,
Do you mean that my 100 yards setting is too close to activate this feature? Does your 300 yards one activate it? Troulble is, at my age, by the time I saw the warning and finally got there, I would have forgotton what the warning was about anyway!! Laughing Out Loud

I had mine set for 100 yards, and I did not see it in the top left screen. Try changing it to 300 yds, it counts down the distance. Nice feature.

You can also change the "Beep,Bong" sounds for spoken warnings, there are instructions on this site somewhere.

Anyone any ideas about why this site says speed camera files from Palm are free yet on their website, they are charging about £35 for a years subscription? Am I looking at the bit of the website?

Found a camera (we only have two to experiement on!). Setting it to 300 yards works with a flashing camera in the top left hand corner and a countdown indication. Wonder how many others have set it for a lower setting and had the same problem. Many thanks.

Glad it works now. Why have you only got two, there are hundreds around here...!

I can't see anyone buying the TomTom speed camera database, when this site gives such useful information free of charge!
