A real DUMMY Newbie here - PLEASE help

Hi,

I am brand new to PDA and GPS.
I have an Acer n30 PDA with 128 external memory card.
I am running TomTom3 with UK maps on memory card.
I have just bought (ebay) UK speed traps etc. How do I install the speed traps system. The GPS system was bought off ebay and is a £59.00 and all the clever bits (gps) are in the PDA holder - works GREAT!!

If you can, please advise.

Well the Safety Camera files are FREE from this web site, you need to download a FREE program called CheckPOInt, use version 2.0.2, you will find that in the Download section under CheckPOInt, and the Safety Cameras can be found here:

Hi, thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

BUT could somebody explain the mechanism wherby the speed camera module/files are added and work with TT3.

Being a newby, all I know is I have an Acer n30 with TT3 working great, I want to add the speedtrap module - HOW do I do that (in great detail) 8O

so you are looking to add a hardware speed trap detector like:

Roadangel, snooper etc?

Hi, and thanks for trying to help.
I am making a mess of this I am afraid.

The situation is: I have an Acer n30 with TT3 (UK POSTCODES ETC) running great, I then purchased the TT3 CD which includes speedtraps. What I would like to know is, using my PC, how do I load the modules onto my Acer n30 and TT3 so that I will get the benefit of speedtrap warnings?

Other than my Acer n30, no other hardware is involved.

Download CheckPOInt :

Download Safety Camera files :

Connect your PDA via ActiveSync to your main PC, click on the CheckPOInt file you downloaded, install to the default directory, unzip the the Safety Camera files, look for the .ov2 files, copy the files to your Great Britain map folder (maybe on your PDA storage card), then start the CheckPOInt program on your PDA, configure it and your all done.
