Can anyone help as to why it finds it sometimes and not others?

Also when i switch on the pda should it find the gps unit straight away or can it take a while also when i had my stop i connected the gps myself by going to bluetooth manager and doubble clicking the shortcut to the gps and it conected is this normal or not?

Id love to help but sadly i use a cf card, however i have ordered a 338.
My cf card has to be in place to be recognised on start up before i launch tom tom, it then finds it as generic cf card.
You may have to make the bluetooth connection before launching tom tom.
Hope this helps or some expert comes to your rescue as you seem to be getting no response to your Question
Come on help the lad Smile

what connection settings do you have in GPS window?
I have the same setup as you and my system is : NMEA 0183v2 38400 in the top window and Bluetooth Serial Port Com7 in the bottom window.

I havnt yet got TT5, still "limping" along on TT3!
In TT3 if you tap navigator screen all sorts of options come up, on of them is to view the gps info (connection etc)

Shane, I have the same set up and I can only say what mine does: I switch on the GPS and get it "warmed up". The I switch on the Dell Axi x50 and make sure the blue light is flasjhing ie bluetooth is enabled. Then, I open Dell Navigation software and agree not to use the unit whilst driving - yeah right! At this point, the Bluetooth manager kicks in and asks which bluetooth device I want to link up with. Inevitibly, it gives me the BT-GPS icon and I click on it once. Bingo - both systems are talking to each other. Then look at the GPS signal page because it can take a few minutes to pick up satelites.

Hope some of that makes sense
Russ
