HELP: Issues with IPAQ and TTNV3

Hi

I have a Compaq H3970 IPAQ and TTNV3 with the latest updates from TomTom without going as far as the new TTNV5, yet!

Now, my problem is that my IPAQ has started to behave strangely and I have tried everything, soft reset, hard rest, re-installing and prayer but to no avail thus proving that A: I believe my IPAQ to be FUBAR'd and that there is no god.

The problem itself is that when I start the Navigator the maps do not load and it does not detect the GPS but then if I "Soft Re-Set" everything is fine This is natuarally a tad annoyning but also the IPAQ has started to drain its battery too which sometimes over night can result in me having to completely re-instal everything....JOY!

Any advice as currently I have been left with BUY A TOMTOM GO but of course I would rather save myself some dosh by getting some excellent advice from you good fellows, so what do ya reckon then?
