Hello,
Anybody brave enough to buy the Destinator pn packs available from a German seller on E-bay, at present selling for 99 euros + 7 euros p&p?
My translation capabilities are not good, it must be worth seeing how the aucton goes.

Hello,
This isn't as scary as it sounds. Apart from first checking that the seller has a good feedback rating (I suggest less than 98% = bad), then you can go ahead, safe in the knowledge that the software will work.
I bought a Yakumo PDA with Destinator software and German map from Vobis.de last year and got it for less than €300 - at the time I bought it, this was a bargain.
The only downside I foresee is that the quick start guide and any accompanying documentation will be in German, but if you're OK with that and the price is right there are no other worries. The software is multi-language anyway so apart from the licence key there is no way of distinguishing it from UK-sourced software.
If you choose to buy a PDA from Germany, watch out as the OS is in ROM and will be German, as will be the keyboard layout. Not a problem if you're happy with German, though.
I hope this is useful for you. I have upgraded to the latest version of Destinator with software and maps by buying from a German eBay seller.
Good luck! |

Have anybody this new Destinator PN? How good are the maps of Ireland there? I am asking because Destinator 3, at least version 3.0.25 has very poor coverage of Ireland, street level only for Dublin and Belfast and they are missing motorway which is there for about 10 years now. |
