I've just got my GPS receiver (Globalsat 338) just this weekend and I've been looking for some "different", but interesting applications. I'd have to admit, that this is one app thats staying on my HX4700.

Couple of questions though .. why only 220 seconds of data? Is this all your memory reservation can hold, or all that can be made to look nice on the graph ? Would be good to get more on the graph, and defined polling periods.

The new installer is a bonus for the lazy ones amongst us (me!)

How about being able to view the csv with Pocket Excel - can that be done or am I missing something?

Its developers like this who keep us all happy!

Cheers,

Matthew

Looks good!

An useful feature would be some method of putting in waypoints and navigating to them. I've found this feature quite useful in the past, especially if the distance to them from the current position is displayed too.

I hope that helps.

Its such a superb product! The display is so clear in all lights, and I really like the graphs displaying speeds etc.... the program gives me all the details I expect + have always wanted from my Pocket PC.

Fantastic work.....

It'd be really good if you could skin it, so it could really compliment your car's instruments/dials etc....

Simon

Hi All

Thanks for your comments and please check you PM's (since the first couple of post were by moderators Im going to give everyone up until Pocketgps's post a copy).

andyjenkins - The graph is updated every second, since the graph is 220 pixels wide it means 220 points. Future versions will allow the interval to be specified so that the graph refelects a longer timeline.

mrhumphreys - A great idea, CSV in Pocket Excel would be awesome! I dont think Pocket Excel has any import functions though. I did try an associate CSV files wil Pocket Excel but it wouldnt open them! I will see what I can do though. However if you must have then in Pocket Excel you can convert the CSV to an Excel spreadsheet and then copy back via ActiveSync to your devuice. This will convert the Excel spreadsheet into Pocket Excel format.

aiw_2000 - Waypoints and POI are in the pipe line Smile

SimonB - Skinning is in the pipe line too. It should be in the next release. Skins will include colour schemes, background images & sound files.

Pocketgps - Doh! Check your PM

Thanks for all the kind words guys :D

Regards

i`m not sure about this, but can I use this at the same time as say tomtom ?, personally, I would rather have the navigation first and the features in this second. Ideally both at once. Is it possible to share the GPS between the 2 apps?

Nigel.

Hi Nigelp

Thats a hardware limitation, only one application can use the GPS at a given time. You can get things like GPSGate which allows one GPS to be shared amongst several applications.

I believe that in Windows CE 5.0 this will be standard functionality of all Pocket PC's.

oh mrhumphreys, I had a quick dig around the net to see if anyone had already done a CSV to PXL convertor and there are a few available. This one looks the nicest and is shareware;

http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~tascal/download/pocketpc/pxlcsv_e.htm

This would allow you to view your GPS Speed Sentry CSV log files in Pocket Excel.
