Would you mind checking to see if TTN5's maps use corrected Teleatlas data regarding the large number of streets in the Highgate area of North London that are incorrectly named?

As a quick check, you could just see if they have 'Leaside Avenue' in London N10.

Very much appreciated.

Outrageous. There must be in the region of 5 to 7 thousand people in N London whose addresses just don't exist due to this glitch. And it only came in with version 3.

But thanks anyway.

Your road is called Apple Farm Grange!

Yes, it's embarrassing isn't it? Somewhere there's a little rural idyll called Apple Farm Grange which has been mistakenly called Leaside Avenue.

There are similar errors covering at least twenty streets in the immediate vicinity.

I would not use the word 'embarrasing' but rather 'disgusting'.

Errors that I would consider as critical which I submitted last October have taken seven months to change from 'Under Analysis' to 'Under Treatment' although I don't know what this means exactly.

Some of the errors reported within these forums have been known to TeleAtlas for a long long time but do not appear to have been addressed. I think this is unnacceptable and cannot understand why TomTom, Navman or anyone else using their data puts up with it.

I have attempted to contact TA via the e-mail addresses on their website several times to ask for reasons their map data still contains 'old' errors and for information on the latest coverage data sheets (MultiNet) but several months on I have not received so much as an acknowledgement.

That does seem very silly. The error that amuses me on the latest version of the TT4 maps is the Reigate Junction on the M25 heading West. The junction was remodelled about ten years ago and the exit was moved about 2 miles East. If you are unfamiliar with this, and expect TomTom to tell you when to leave the motorway, you will be well on the way to Leatherhead before TomTom even tells you there isa junction ahead.

Lets just hope it doesn't then say "Turn arround if possible".

I bet that isn't fixed in TT5.

Ian, I agree with you, and I have also gone through the process of reporting these errors. Unlike 'conventional' map errors, these seem to be the result of a data input error. These streets were after all correctly named in an earlier TeleAtlas release (eg the one that accompanied TomTom 2). So correcting them should not be a case of re-driving the streets themselves, but just changing the name labels.
