Do these two work together okay? I'm not too worried about one starting the other, but only concerned about the overlays and warnings.
I'm considering upgrading from TTN3 to TTN5, but it's not worth it if I can't use CheckPOInt. |

CheckPOInt does not work with TT5, but from what I have read so far you don't need it TT5 has its own built in POI warner and you can add more POI's using POI edit |

Yes, but the TT5 poi warner has crap sounds and only warns you once.
Checkpoint is far better, I will not upgrade until checkpoint is working with TT5.
I love the option of 2 seperate warnings at different times to POI and user configurable sounds. _________________ Garmin Edge 800 (cycling)

I agree entirely with Toby. In addition to the 2 warnings with Checkpoint there is also the ability to get a warning when over the preset speed limit which I find VERY useful.
What is the prospect of getting the Checkpoint people to modify their software?
I too am very reluctant to upgrade to TT5, despite the "improvements" _________________ Terry:

Any reason why the following shouldn't work
Create a copy of the speedcamera database and make this also active for POI warnings but obviously with a differeant distance and presto 2 warnings.
Cheers

Okay tried the above as a temp fix while/if Checkpoint gets updated and it does work. You will have to remember to update the copy of the database as well as the original but a small price to pay for safety. Set the warnings to 300 and 200 yards but may need tweaking in the field.

Well, I have upgraded and am still trying to work out the benefits (apart from the extra maps). |

Given the main feature missing from TTN5 is the overspeed warning, I would expect this to be included in whichever product. |

If you mean turned down as in turned off then, no it won't work.
They're the same.
But you can use the silent voice.
Check this thread in the TomTom forum for info and link. _________________ Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want. |

If you look at the checkpoint home page the author has added a comment saying that until TOMTOM release an SDK for TTN5 when he is unable to update checkpoint.
My guess is that the Author of Checkpoint would love to be able to update, but with out the SDK release from TOMTOM he can't do anything, |

The SDK for version 5 is now available.
POI Warner have used it and have released an update.
I'm undecided if I should take the plunge and pay for POIWarner now or hang on for CheckPOInt. I've read that POIWarner is buggy at the moment. |
