|
|
Hi guys,
I would like some advice I'm thinking of changing my Garmin 310 sat nav as mine (routing is a bit slow sometimes when i passed the junction it tells me then to take turn - i might been tad bit over the limit .
these are my important requirements:
1) fast routing - as mentioned above - I heard that TomTom does this pretty well.
2) I want the maps to display all the No-Entrys, Oneways systems so i could take better shortcuts - driving in city of London is a nightmare. (bit like google maps)
3) maybe one with built in TMC.
Is there any sat nav that could do all of the above.
Thanks

All the current models know which roads are one-way, no-entry etc. Are you asking for one which displays this information on screen whilst you drive? If so then I'm not aware of one that does. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Miomap 3.2 and 3.3 show one way streets providing you modify a configuration file. MioMap is based on the Igo software, I suspect that the Igo does as well |

yeah Darren that exactly what I'm looking for it makes it easier if you want a shortcut with actually navigating. |

TomToms show one way streets in the map view, but not the navigation view. |

The map can be run on any TomTom device so the one way detail is available to all users when the correct display mode is selected - Mike |

TomToms (and others I'm sure) allow you to "avoid roadblock" where you can ask it to recalculate a route from where you are but avoiding the current route for 100yds / 1/4 mile / 1 mile / 3 miles. They also let you choose to avoid a certain road that is on the route.
Using this, you don't need to guess whether a road may take you where you want to go - just let the device do the work for you. _________________ Gerry
