Unacceptable long re-routing performance

I created a corridor for a trip that was 800 miles. I never had a destination that was more than 450 miles from any starting point within the corridor. Routes this long take far too long to calculate. Every time you deviate from the route the program re-calculates the entire route. For a long trip, this takes several minutes. At 65 mph, you can go a long distance in several minutes. As soon as it completed the re-route, the program immediately realized I was no longer where it thought I was, so it started a re-route again. This becomes an endless loop. The only way to prevent it is to stop the car and let the program catch up. In addition, during the re-routing, you can't get access to the main screen or button presses.

I encountered the problem 3 times. It happened when all traffic was re-routed because of construction. The problem also happened when I started the program while moving and planned a long route. And the problem occured with what I suspect was bad map data (East-Central Iowa). The program continuously couldn't decide if I was on the real road or off in a field (off by several hundred feet). Everytime the program thought I was off the road, it started a re-route routine taking several minutes. For really bad data, the program never recovered from the endless loop.

This problem in my opinion makes the program useless for long distance trips. The developers have to significantly speed up the re-routing calculations, or come up with a different algorithm.
