The only way to navigate across borders is to plan a route with paper maps or Mapquest, and then to navigate to a point on the border. When you reach the border, you can then switch maps and navigate to the destination.

Borders are not in the database, so you have to zoom in and place a favourite on the border, then navigate to that.

Several times when I have tried this on a motorway TT considers that the favourite is closer to the inbound lane, than the outbound lane. It then can't plot a route. The only way to navigate to the inbound lane is to leave the country, then turn around and come back in, and TT cant do that because it doesnt know the maps for the other country are installed.

Time TT had a European route planner map for TTN

TT2 & European Maps do come with Frontier Crossings marked as Points Of Interest. They don't all seem to be present though. There appear to be a decent selection of road crossings for France, but there is only 1 crossing marked for the UK, just outside Folkestone. I would have hoped to find all the Channel Ferry Crossings and the Tunnel marked.

Yes, it would be nice to be able to load more than 1 country at a time and plan a route in a single step.

Oops. My mistake, they have also given us Ferry Crossings. The single UK border crossing marked is in the vicinity of the Chunnel.
