Copilot looks a very interesting program, but for me it is missing one major item!
It would be extremly useful if the software supported TMC over rds (like Navigon)
I have used TT3 (and like it), but this does not support TMC/RDS. I have tried Navigon, but the user interface does not come close to TT3 or CoPilot.
It it all very well using GPRS, but a) this incurs an additional cost for data and (more importantly) b) not all of us can get access to the data from out mobile networks. Using a TMC mouse would be a lot simplier than requiring a mobile connection. |

As far as we know there are no plans to support RDS TMC. The current CoPilot Live feature assumes an existing internet connection, read: GPRS _________________ Lutz

You are quite right - the software requires an internet connection, however unfortunaly not all of us have one!
The posting was hopefully to catch the eye of ALK who may consider adding this functionality, as navigon and alturion both have. |

I am voicing my personal opinion here: TMC is a thing of the past, a regional relic.
Future solutions will rely on Internet connections, either via mobile networks, WiMAX, or even satellite connections. (The GPS sats fly around doing mostly nothing - they could quite well also transmit traffic and weather and LBS stuff etc. _________________ Lutz

You may well be right particulary with PPC based systems as the only RDS system is Navigon, all others are internet reliant. However all dedicated navigation systems with traffic (i.e factory fitted BMW/Mercedes etc) use the RDS system.
Time will no doubt provide which way the system will progress. |

Currently there are no plans for a TRUE TMC based system (OTA - Over The Air), but Traffic will be released soon using Internet GPRS (Honest!) and this will provide traffic news and the ability to re-route. |
