TTN2 + Smart ST

Because I use both the TomTom GPS & Navman 3000 sleeve in different situations I would welcome any comments or advice from members who have installed both systems on the same PPC. I have a 3870

Both systems will be okay installed on the same Pocket PC, I do this myself for testing. Personally I've always found the Navman sleeve ton be slow in receiving TTFF's compared with other powered GPS Receivers (that's my observation though).



Are there any problems you are experiencing in this setup ?

Thanks Dave, I have a problem where Navman's GPSinfo 1.3 sees sats but when I run SmartST it just sits there *Waiting for GPS* & GPS status shows nothing. I have just made another discovery; it seems that SP1 from the Navman site says it will only work on jacket software 2.1 or later & mine is 2.0.0, can this be upgraded?, can I safely roll back from SP1?

That is correct regarding the jacket, I'm investigating this with Navman at the moment because my jacket is an older version.



Does your UTC clock sit at zero ?

Yes, position & UTC clock both greyed out & @ Zero. Just checked that TTN2 is OK & the Navman drivers are OK with that plus the Navman GPSInfo 1.3 is responding quickly & getting 5-6 sats.

I will monitor the Navman forum if you get an update from them with regard to the "old-sleeve" issue, I think I'd be a little less off topic there being that the problem seems to be a Navman issue. TTN2 contiues to be without problems for me.

Tim you can get at it by downloading GPS View. I'm not entirely sure the new version jackets will fix the problem, Navman have asked me to check for them which I will be doing hopefully this weekend.



Peter, Navman have asked me to report back to them with my test results, and I'll let you know shortly afterwards whether it has fixed a problem and if there is an easier fix.

Fortunately my trip from Greenwich to Berwick-on-Tweed this weekend will be quite adequately managed by TTN2.
