A collegue at work has offered to sell me his Navman PIN 300 GPS system as he knows I'm looking for one or something similar (he's now got a company car with built in GPS - lucky blighter).

I understand from him that it comes with all the software which includes a cutdown version of some Microsoft stuff and Navman ST v3.

Never having owned one of these devices before can anyone advise if I can re-install the software, presumably its possible to do this?

Also would I need to register any changes with Navman or Mr Bill Gates?

Please excuse my ignorance on this matter.

forget Mr Gates - hes too busy spending his billions.
As for Navman, if you get the original 4 CD's with the PiN (Which you should) install the desktop application onto your PC then try the following:
With the PiN synched via Active sync to the PC run the desktop application, click on 'Tools > Recover registration information from Navman...' Follow the screen prompts. At the screen that says 'Activate Software - welcome back' enter your friends e-mail address then click the Update button and amend the details with your own.

I say enter your friends e-mail address as this may be required to access the server information. I see no harm in trying your own first if you wish.

Thanks, the bloke I'm buying from at work says that everything is there including all the CD's.

Will try as you suggested and let you know how I get on.

Bought the PiN 300 and have to admit its really useful.

Haven't registered with Navman as yet but have asked a few questions on the Navman GPS Hardware forum.
