Following help from this site I now have V5 up and running with all my maps and the speed camera data too.

I do have a question tho. When using TTG without planning a route so it just displays the road you are driving along I notice it still shows the speed camera icons. Is it possible to have TTG say the voice files in this mode without other directional voice commands?

Yes, if ttgo warns you of cameras when you have a route planned route it will when you haven't unless you have enabled "warn omly if POI is on route"
