When I got my 700 it set up my connection to O2 without a problem.
Before I got my 700 I had Navigator 3 & 5 on a pda and tried to connect to O2 via my XDAIIi but gave up as O2 said it could not be done. I'm not sure if the advice was correct, but I gave up and first of all used my wife's Motorola V500 and then a Nokia 6230 which I now use with the 700, one was on Orange and the 6230 is on O2.
Hope you have better luck.
