If you want to use it for mapping, then the MapSource CD's are a superb extra. |

I plan to purchase MAP source later.
At this moment (before learning :-) use unit for general map and connect to my Pocket with Ozi for topomaps.
I use wdgps for learn NEMA sentences and translate data. _________________ Samsung Galay Ace, Pocket Loox 720/RBT1000.

If you haven't already, check out the GPSMAP76 Review. It covers most of the functions of the 76S. I have a 76S myself, I like the 76S over the 76 because of the true compass it has barometer. |

I've purchase de 76s for de same reason. This unit is realy "universal". The map is a little poor but i plan to purchase MapSource for more details.

You might want to look at Garmin's MetroGuide, it comes on 2 CD's for Europe, this is what I'm using on the GPSMap76S and gives you a high level of detail right down to the smallest of streets.
From what I recall, the basemap that came installed was only of major roads and motorways and included very little POI information.
Looking at several towns/cities I get more POI's compared to some of the Pocket PC GPS Street Routing packages! |
