I have followed the instructions to the letter, ie downloaded 2850_new.data.chk renamed the old (data.chk) file data.chkbac renamed the new file data.chk but the old bells and whistles are still the only warning I can assign.
I notice that with the safety camera download there are "wav" file do I need them for the spoken warnings to operate and if so where do I put them.
My system is HP Ipaq running Tomtom 4.400 (2850)
Thanks

hmm. Normally that should have worked. Are you sure you followed the instructions? _________________ Lutz

I believe that spoken poi things only work with 4.42 - you need to upgrade from 4.40. |

Thanks for the replies. I have sorted the problem.
(1) If changing the data.chk file for the new one with the spoken warnings then the "wav" files found on the saftey camera download page are not necessary.
(2) The new data.chk file works fine with version 4.4 of Tomtom.
(3) The main problem was that I had two data.chk files one on the sd card and another within the program files. It appears that I needed to change both the data.chk files.
One done all works ok. |

Most operating systems, when they see a file with greater than 3 characters in the file extension, look at the first three only. In which case it would see 2 data.chk files and it just picked the wrong one!
Better to rename as data._hk'' _________________ Richard
