|

HELP!
I recently purchased a XDA IIi, TomTom Navigator 3 (updates installed to 3.07) and a Purple Grid K2 Bluetooth GPS receiver (com port 6).
The major problem I have is that while in Navigator, my XDA IIi completly freezes roughly within 30 minutes (and continues to keep doing so all day while using TomTom) - I then have to keep doing a soft reset!
I have uninstalled TomTom, reinstalled, done a Hard Reset - reinstalled again - still the problem appears.
Is this a known problem, is there a solution?
Am I doing anything wrong?
Cheers

Many thanks for the reply.
I have just disabled IR Beams - thanks.
When I format the SD card, do I format it FAT or FAT32 (or does it matter)
Thanks for your time

It shouldn't matter, but some devices seem to work better with FAT others with FAT32. Also the make of SD Card can also have an influence, it all becomes a bit of a trial and error to get it all working correctly. _________________ Graham.

Thanks
I downloaded a trial of "Flash Format" - and formated the card using this software then copied the data back onto the card.
So, I have formated the SD card and disabled the IR beam - fingers crossed this solves my problems!
I will post a reply tomorrow to let you guys know what my findings are.
Thanks again for the help and advice.

Well - after all the above it's still exactly the same.
Seems to freeze at more or less the same spots each day.
I was out driving for 90 minutes and it froze 4 times.
Any other ideas guys?

The only time I had the same problem was when I used my original SD Card, it was one made in Taiwan and was to slow. I purchased a much faster Panasonic one and no problems since. If you search through the forums on SD cards there are some cards which cause problems and others which are fine. _________________ Graham.

After taking your advice XDA, I searched the forums for a recomended SD card.
So I ordered a Kingston 512MB Elite Pro SD from Ebay - will be here tomorrow (extra £2 for Special Delivery)

Fingers are crossed this solves the problem.
