I currently have a powered arkon mount for my 2210, but I am not happy with all the wires and the size of it, so am looking for a neater mount solution.

Ideally it would have a good quality speaker (the arkon sounds distorted at high volumes) and the ability to charge my clip-on.

I am considering the seido 2500 mount, but am not clear if it would charge the clip-on and does it do away with the need of an audio cable to the headphone jack (the least wires the better).

Any advice appreciated.

No volume adjustment at all not much better than 2210 own speaker.
I am looking to source a 12v amplifier to power the speaker. the mount itself is good but the speaker is volume is rubbish imo.

Further to my last post, there is a review on the Brodit which turns out favourable, it appears that my mount is faulty hence poor amplification.
Sorry if I have misled you. It was not intensional.

I have just fitted one and it's superb. I had a Qubit PDA Amp in my last car which was great. Having just got my new Discovery I thought I'd give the Brodit one a go as it would save me having to plumb in the Qubit.

I'm delighted to report that it's at least as good with less wires and if you have the cigarette lighter version much more convenient as it can be removed in seconds.

I have had to turn it down as it's too loud at full volume and at 3/4 it can be heard over the stereo perfectly, it doesn't have its own volume control, you simply used the volume slider on the PPC itself.

I also have a prototype hard wire version that combines the speaker with the option of connecting a serial GPS directly to it or powering a BT GPS which is useful and cuts down on the wires. A review will follow soon.
