So, now I have quite a few POI's on the 510 that I've downloaded and they all display with no problem. But I want to change the settings for individual ones and that is proving a problem.

I have the POI's for the London Congestion Zone on there (called cczone). Last night I was driving on the perimeter of the area and they annoying me with the audio warning constantly going off and the visual warning replacing the name of the street I was on so I decided to go in and turn them off. Easy? No!

Go to Settings - Alerts - Active POI and select the one you want. Untick 'active' and then save and go to the map display. The C logo is still there. Turning off the Visual Warning makes no difference.

Okay then, go to Settings - My Data - My POI and untick the one you want. Save and exit and the 510 reloads the maps, the C logo is still there and when you go in and have another look, the one you unticked is ticked again! Not only that, but now there are loads of other POI's displayed. (To get rid of them you have to untick and then retick 'show icons on map' under "points of interest" and save changes).

Does anyone have any ideas? What is the point of giving options to adjust my POI's individually, when it doesn't work? I don't want to turn off all the POI's, just some of them and the choices are there! The only way around it I can see is to remove them from the unit but then you'd have to reload them again later.

Hi Simon,

What you are experiencing is a bug, All the MYPOI's that you load will be visible on the map all the time. you can however turn on and off the visual and sound warnings for each group individually but not the actual icon.

Navman are aware of this and hopefully will be fixed soon.

They are on http://www.getoutguide.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/poidownloads/ which is linked to at the bottom of icsys' posting below yours!

Thanks for the reply icsys, I sent a copy of my post to their tech support - let's see if it helps.

Hello Simon

It's a bit disturbing, I downloaded that file to compare with mine, and found 23 differences in my file (entry points), and 32 in the one from Ian's web site.

Were the differences quite big? Obviously, just putting a two co-ordinates in a few feet apart creates a new entry as the lat and long will be different.

Long Lane = Abbey Street
Brook Gate = Upper Brook Street
Carey Place is a footpath
Causton Street doesn't join Vauxhall Bridge Road
Chester Way is a one way street leading OUT of the zone
Cnoway Street (your spelling) is in my file at 51.52398, -0.14177
Devonshire Place is a one way street leading OUT of the zone
Edgware Road is on the Harrow Road Flyover
Endsleigh Street doesn't join Euston Road
Gower Street at your coordinates is not a zone entry point
Great Eastern Street at your coordinates is not a zone entry point
Grosvenor Road = Millbank
Homer Street is a one way street leading OUT of the zone
Mora Street is named Moira Street (incorrectly) in my file
New Kent Road at your coordinates is not a zone entry point
Osbert Street does not join Vauxhall Bridge Road
Park Crescent isn't in the zone, making your 'e' and 'w' invalid
Paul Street does not join Great Eastern Street
Seymour Street is in my file with slightly different coordinates
Tilney Street is a one way street leading OUT of the zone
Udall Street is a one way street leading OUT of the zone
Upper Montague Street slip is just Upper Montague Street in my file

Blimey, Tim - is there not much on the telly tonight? Wink That's impressive, I don't think I would have had the patience.

I was watching Groundhog Day. Anyway, if someone can be bothered to give feedback on our Custom POIs, I think it's only right to return the compliment. However, I don't think this is the place, and won't be doing it on the forum again, at least not for such a long list. I would prefer feedback to by sent via email (address in .txt file).

Actually, on the subject of long lists, I've put quite a few POI's on my 510, and even though some of them are shorter ones (like the SEAT dealerships) I THINK I've noticed the unit slowing down just a little in it's calculations and general updating as I drive around. It seems to take a fraction longer when I turn corners, etc.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but there is supposed to be still over 2mb left of space. Is it possible that it can slow down with too many poi's loaded?

Hello Tim,

Thanks for your response, as regards your email it's not in the file I downloaded from Ian's web site.

Oh, thanks for that. I'll get Ian tro add it, and ensure it's in the other POIs I've done.

My CC Zone POI was created after driving around the perimeter three or four times, as well as studying maps and other websites. I'm sure there are some mistakes but all in all I reckon it's pretty accurate.
