TTN3 map with TTN4 for palm

Does anyone know if the BG map included with TTN3 (pocket pc) will work with TTN4 for palm app?

I want to buy a software only version as I already have the GPS hardware. I am thinking of buying TT3 (legit of course!) and then using the map(s) it contains with TTN4 on my palm pda.

Is it then just a matter of locating the maps on the CD and copying them to the right place on a SD card after activation?

The issue of product code validity is always complicated, and I can't recommend your proposed way ahead.

Even if the product code allows you to activate the Navigator 3 maps on your Palm, those maps are rather old now - December 2003 data. They're also earlier than the maps sold with Navigator for Palm OS, so if Navigator for Palm OS misbehaves with them, you've got no support.

If possible, I'd hold on for a few weeks until it becomes clear how Navigator 5 is going to be bundled. I don't believe TomTom have committed to shipping a "software only" version, but hopefully they'll announce one.
