Have just bought a 512Mb SD card for use with Medion Navigator 4.3 After I have loaded the UK maps, if I try to load the Benelux map using Active Sync, the card becomes unusable and is filled with dozens of files with gibberish names.
If I copy the UK map from a 256 MMC card into a directory named UK and then copy the Benelux map from another 256 MMC card into a directory named Benelux, the 512Mb card looks OK. When I start Navigator and choose country I only get the choice of United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. I cannot see Belgium, Holland or Luxemburg. The maps cannot all go into the same directory because they have the same filenames. Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong please? |

It should work ok doing that, as when the software starts part of the long delay is it scanning all available filing systems and storage cards for directories contraining map data files.
Can you see the contents of all the map directories on the storage card using the PDA's File Explorer? It might be worth reformatting the storage card from a PC with a card reader (often built in to laptops these days, or available as very cheap USB devices) and copying on the files again, incase it was corrupted by the abortive installs from ActiveSync.
If you have got a card reader its far quicker to install the map data directly on to the card than using ActicSync, which took about 6 hours on one occation.
Cheers

Hi Dave.
Yes I can see all the files using File Explorer. I had to reformat the card after the Active Sync episode. I normally write directly to the card but because the second set of maps did not show, I tried Active Sync to try to see which directories they were put in.
So it looks like I have done the right thing but Navigator is not finding them. I know that changing cards requires a soft reboot but it did not do anything in this case. Looks like 'back to the drawing board' again.
Thanks for your help. John |
