|

Hi,
If I record a track using Create from the overlay menu, I get a neat red line showing where I have been, however how do I instruct it to STOP recording?
I tried selecting the end of the track but no menu pops up, I exited the program, but when I started it up again it seemd to carry on recording!
I have probably missed somthing obvious but would appreciate advice.

If I understand the problem correctly:- when drawing the track you use single mouse clicks for each point, and when you come to the last point you double-click it - this stops recording and completes the track.

Hi,
I am happy with "drawing" a track, on PC or PPC it works as you say.
It is "Recording" that gives me problems.
I select Menu, Overlay, Create, Track, and it then starts recording my movements as a track line on the map.
It is what to do when I have arrived at a destination and want to stop it recording that flummoxes me.
What do I do?

I beleive this is what you do:-
1)Menu -> Overlay -> List
2)On the bottom select the tab for 'Track' (you may need to scroll right if its not visible)
3)Select the name of the Track you were recording and Select 'Edit'
4)You'll get the data for that track and can even change its colour, but what you want is the 'Active' box to top right next to 'Name'. Deselecting this makes it - well - inactive!!
As an aside when you have the complete list of Tracks up - Step 3 before clicking 'Edit' - you'll note there is bottom left a 'Visible' box. You can select or deselect this for each Track (or indeed anything else on any of the other tabs) again does what it says on the tin - hides it on the map or shows it on the map - ceertainly helps to get rid of all the previous tracks to concentrate on the one in question, without the clutter - or you can keep some routes without having them all on screen at once.
Hope this helps - and it took me a while to find out how to as well!!

Rod,
Thanks very much, I had a feeling it was a bit obscure.
I will try it next time I am on a walk.
