|
|
I bought my set up, including Ipaq 1940, 19th January 2004.
Took it out of its holder yesterday to find that the screen is no longer working, There is a large smudge, cannot think of a better way of describing it other than it is almost like something has been spilt across it, and this is across the screen when switched off or on, and when on there are also differant coloured lines across the screen.
The screen is not scratched, cracked or broken in any way nor am I aware that it has been knocked, dropped, had anything spilt on it or damaged in any other way.
Does anyone know what the problem is, and if the screens can be repaired.
If I end up having to replace it what is the cheapest bluetooth option, still have BT receiver TT3 etc. I am only interested in the sat nav so do not need any of the other benefits of the PPC
Grateful for any help / advice
Alan

Yeah right ;-)
Maybe some sudden temperature drop, or freezing, or whatever.
It sound like the liquid crystals have leaked - you need to replace the display (not necessarily the touch screen)

I have now spoken to HP and other IPAQ repairers who state that it must have been knocked in some way, even though the screen is not damaged and have quoted me for repairs.
Thanks for response

Thanks for help.
Unbelievably,
My TT BT receiver sat in its cradle and smoked at me!!!!
I have contacted TT who have told me to return it for repair / replacement.
But in the meantime I bought a POLSTAR BT GPS off of ebay, thinking that I could use this until my TT was replaced / repaired and then keep it as a spare.
Then 2 days later I have the problem with the Ipaq.
They say it comes in three's and a couple of days later the airbag warning light came up on my car, fortunately still under warranty.
So I have now purchased a TT Go and therefore have my Faulty Ipaq, TT3 and a couple of BT receivers (once TT deal with it) that I will need to get rid of.
Regards

And you are absolutely sure you haven't been abducted by aliens and given electrical super powers? _________________ Lutz
