Is it my imagination, or is it much easier to get a sat fix in France? Was over there recently and never really had a problem - get back to Dover and it takes forever!! |

Your imagination, unless you were standing in the middle of an open field in France, and right besides some tall buildings in the Dover. |

Different cars or the same vehicle? Assuming you were standing in the open then there is no reason aside from local obstructions that would affect this. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi,
Always takes a while to get a fix when you get back to Dover.
My assumption is because you have had your GPS receiver turned off for a couple of hours while on the ferry and then shifted position by 30 miles or so. Also- it will only be marginal but general atmospheric conditions are usually better over France - not so many horrible thick dark clouds as good old blighty.
