ignore_my_docs is an entry that gets created by some applications which tells applications to stop scanning the My Documents directory for updates (AFAIK). It's not a virus and is totally normal.

ignore_my_docs, if it exists, tells the file control in Pocket PC to look in all folders on a storage card. That can make some software very slow in operation. More information is available on this here.

Whilst I have some things outside My Documents, for the sake of speed I create a My Documents folder on my storage cards, put files like MP3 playlists there, and make sure I don't have an ignore_my_docs file on the card.

There's only one known 'virus' for Pocket PC, and it politely asks you if it can infect other files, otherwise carrying no payload. It's just a proof of concept for a Pocket PC virus, rather than anything malicious.

Meanwhile, if look at ignore_my_docs, you'll almost certainly find it's a zero length file anyway.
