Have just got (48 hrs ago) the 'Pack' with Palm Tungsten E

Have done all the setting per instructions, but the Palm doesn' seem to want to 'see' the GPS Rx.

Have called Kirrio, (after calling Mapsonic help desk) who say it's the cradle pug ( I doubt it) and are sending me another plug.

Has anyone else had this 'No GPS' problem and can point me in the right direction?

Bob

Softy reset works for me if the unit does not respond.

Note it can take upoto 15 minutes for some units to warm up.

Also try another GPS app just to check it's not Mapsonic that's the problem, there are some freeware apps at freewarepalm.com that are good for testing

Sorry if this is not it, but mapsonic seems to disable GPS by default sometimes !

Run Mapsonic, go to menu, File, GPS Parameters

Set GPS to Activated
Set Port to 4800 Baud

Click on Test tab on the bottom, and you should get a green tick to say GPS is connected.

Once this has been done, it seems to be OK for soft resets, but if you ever do a hard reset, and reinstall the software, you need to do this again.

if this doesn't fix your problem, then give us more info and I will check back.

James.
