I use this a lot on my TT for my PPC and have been considering going over to TTM - does this app exist?

You can import your own POIs, and there's built-in alerting functionality. The only drawback is that you have to copy the POIs manually

Thanks but I was really asking if there is a postcode application much like the digitools one for TomTom pocketpc. You type in a postcode and you can jump straight to that area - I dont want to have to create 1000s of postcode POIs.

Hi,

No, unfortunately not. TTNav3 uses the old engine, for which TomTom released an SDK (software Development Kit). This SDK allowed third party applications to be written that plug into TTNav.

The rest of the TomTom range uses the newer generic NavCore engine. Unfortunately TomTom have not yet released an SDK for the NavCore engine and it’s not known whether they ever will. The next version of TTNav is likely to also use the NavCore engine.

Regards,

well theres one similar, I posted the alpha release of SmartContacts2POI on this forum a few days back http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14116

Its not quite the same, as Robert pointed out there is not currently an SDK to allow direct interaction with TTM. However my program automatically creates the POIs from your contacts and saves them in the TTM directory ready for use in TTM as POIs named by your contacts name.

It works well for me and is hopefully better then nothing, but as no one seems to have tried it and commented I'll leave that decision to you.

No need to create anything - these POI files are already generated. ALl you need to do is copy them into the map directory and enable them.(if you want the icons on screen)

OK thats cool but you would have a large amount of POIs for the entire UK - I wonder what the size of that file would be?
