Firstly hi to all looking in as this is my first post,
My question basically is this I have a ipac running,
Tom Tom not too sure which version I think 3 with poi warner it all works great no problems there.
I have download from POIHANDLER etc there speed camera file for thr UK
fine so what's my question....
How up to date is there UK speed camera file, and more importantly the one offered here which is updated regular looks better but it has confused me a piece.
The guide after you have download the file saids to find what seems to be just two files which I presume you place where required...but there are so many other files listed etc continental for one can someone explain which exact files I need from the zip for just covering the UK Camera's any help greatly appreciated,

OK I have downloaded the database camera's etc which works fine.....but missing one main part where can I also get the speed signs for the different speeds going pass the camera's which would also tell me via POI WARNER to slow down for the correct speed going pass a camera??????
Anyone know about how do download that I used to have this before..... _________________

Sorry, spent most of the weekend recovering from the office Xmas party
Glad to hear you resolved it, in the .zip file are databases in various formats for TomTom and other applications. For TomTom you need the .bmp and .ov2 files.
The .bmp is the graphic for the Icon and the .ov2 is the database data. There are 5 different databases:
PocketGPS_UK_GATSO.ov2
Gatso Camera Sites
PocketGPS_UK_REDLIGHT.ov2
Red Light Camera Sites
PocketGPS_UK_SPECS.ov2
SPECS Locations
PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL.ov2
Speed Cameras located on the Continent
PocketGPS_UK_MOBILE.ov2
Locations of temporary and mobile speed traps
You can load all or just those you are interested in, if you have no plans to use the system abroad then the Continental cameras will be of no interest but I would advise you load the rest.
As for accuracy, naturally we believe ours is better but then we would wouldn't we! _________________ Darren Griffin |
