When trying to connect the ipaq and gps, I don't have a fortuna listed in the choice list.

WHat choice, if any, should I make from those that do appear?

.... or do I need to get a specific 'driver', and if so from where?

....so many questions !!! ... sorry

Hi mrchips,

Which Fortuna?
If Bluetooth, have you paired the iPAQ and Fortuna?
What software are you using?
What country are you in?

Regards,

I fiddled around trying many of the combinations as I could, and eventually got the thing to work ... although I am not sure that the devices are 'paired' .. don't know how to find out.
The documentation on the iPAQ IS DIRE!
For anyone who may be interested, I used NMEA 0183v2 38400 on Bluetooth COM8.

Wheteher this is the best, or not, I don't know .... I am just pleased that it is working

That sounds like TomTom Navigator 3 software (you didn't say).

Arguably the best option for a Clip On is "TomTom Wireless GPS" - as that will allow TomTom Navigator to configure the GPS to its ideals, also it will allow the "Reset GPS for this location" functionality to work if the GPS is confused as to where it is.

However, these are marginal considerations with a Bluetooth GPS, especially if you don't routinely take the GPS long distances whilst switched off (which is the main use for "Reset GPS for this location" with a Bluetooth GPS).
