Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a dashboard (or windcreen suction cup) mount for an ipaq 4150 and a CoPilot Live 5 BT GPS. Ideally I would like a mount with its own speaker as the ipaq is extremely quiet.

The car is a '99 3 series BMW if that makes any difference.

Where do people normally put the BT GPS, whether charging or not?

As you can probably tell, I am a total newbie to this GPS navigation "lark", so please be gentle with me! :-)

Thanks,
Darren.

Brodit and Seidio offer powered mounts with speakers. We have reviewed both recently - would that be something worth considering?

I have a 2210, and initially had a Seidio vent mount. I wanted non damaging and did not want a windscreen mount. Sadly it didn't live up to its expectations, the vent mount part was cheap and not robust, and whilst the actual holder was Ok it made the 2210 warm when in use (can that be damaging?) and the the power cord failed. I have been promsed a replacement, but I'm still waiting, as I think some other are. Sound quality was OK for me, yes there was a hiss from the speaker, but when on the move it was lost in the road noise or radio. It did amplify, tho' quality maybe wasn't A1 - but hey I didn't want HiFi! I beleive there may have been upgrading on latest models to overcome some of these problems.

I moved to Brodit, quality piece of kit, not the cheapest on the block, but having bought the right mount for my PDA then it'll just be a matter of changing the Proclip when/if the car changes. Very easy to install, and as solid as a rock (Its a 2002 Mondeo), only wish the professional installed mobile phone mount was half as good (hell I'd even settle for it being as robust as the Seidio!!).

Hope this helps.
