sx45..!!!

hello

i am new to sat nav
just bought a siemens sx45 pda
it has a 256 mmc card
i also have bought a globalsat 307 cf gps reciever which plugs into the compact flash port on the sx45.the only problem now is software!!!my pda runs the ce 3.0 operating system which i think is pocket pc..what navigation software will run on it..ect tom tom 3 .the pda came out in 2002 i think

Hi,

The SX45 has a 150MHz MIPS R4000 chip. I get the impression that it is a discontinued model.

The operating system itself (PocketPC 2000) might not prove to be a big issue, but compatibility with Pocket PC software could be in the medium term. A big disadvantage follows directly from having a MIPS processor, since the ARM-based processors have now become a standard for the later Pocket PC 2002 platform. That has resulted in a dramatic decrease in the number of applications supporting non-ARM processors, which makes the 3rd party software selection for the SX45i very slim. This is likely to leave owners of the SX45 out in the cold.
