Hello,

I'm getting a little frustrated and so far no response from alk on the issue.

I am running 5.0.1.22 on a new IMate PDA2k. The problem is that everytime I try to map a location, it brings up a screen with a black box and a zoom in/out button and close button and then it freezes/locks up requiring a soft reset. If i get it to provide me directions, it seems to freeze/hang at the next turning point. I've tried hard resetting the device and only loading copilot 5, I've tried different SD Cards(SanDisk Ultra II and Lexar) and I've tried moving the maps to ram to no avail.

Has anyone else had freeze/lockup issues like this? I'm thinking about returning my copilot and getting either Routis or Destinator... any opinions on which one is better?

Thanks!

Is the IMate effectively an XDAII ? If so, there's a patch available on the www.alk.eu.com website to stop the lockups occurring.

Thanks Smile .. Unfortunately, I'm in the US, but he version number on the eu site is 5.0.1.22 which is the same version I'm running now. The PDA2k is almost the same as the XDA II.. its using the same intel PA263 processor, but it is new hardware and running windows 2003SE.

I managed to talk to alk support and the only answer they could give me was that I have defective CD's....

I did go back an install the old version 4.5 that I had and that one runs without a single problem. rerouting 20+ times(I enter my start address instead of where I was going so it kept trying to get to go the other way ;) )

It seems that everytime 5.0 freezes/locks up is when it accesses map data.
