dell axim plus tomtom - please help !

i am new to the GPS world and i have a Tomtom navigator + dell axim X5.
whenever i start the navigator it says on the screen 'tomtom navigator had performed an illegal operation and will be shut down'.

it does this a few times before starting every time. after that it's great.
sometimes this goes on for a good 10 - 15 minutes at the very onset of my journey.

what am i doing wrong?

please help .

about the above problem sorry i forgot to mention
i am using a Sandisc CF 128MB card on which i have loaded the tomtom.

try installing ttn3 to main memory and the only the maps to the memory card. ScanDisc cf cards don't appear to have the troubles the that their SD cards suffer with, so the card should be ok for the maps.

I've never used the dell but this may cure it.
