Whwn you choose to download a file at the point before you click 'save' you should be able to see where the file is being downloaded too and if you wish change this.

There are a number of factors which affect where it defaults to but performing a wildcard search i.e. *check*.* (this searched for any file with some text then 'check' then more text in it's file name and the .* bit at the end emans it will show any file regardless of type i.e. .zip, .exe etc.

If you downloaded CheckPOInt then the executable needs to be run on the PC with the iPAQ docked to install, it will not run on the PocketPC.

Download checkPOInt to your PC, say to a folder in your PCs "My Documents"

Ensure your 2210 is attached via Activesync.

Go to the file you downloaded on your PC and double click on it and it will burst into life and load checkPOInt on your 2210.

You then need at open CheckPOInt on your PDA by finding it in Programmes. You will just see an Icon in the PDA sys tray. Click on this Icon and play with General settings and Overlay settings.

Hope this helps,

Steve

OK, it does have an "!" on it.

It should be in the sys tray on the bottom of your screen.

Click on the icon with your pen, go to general settings. Tick "Automatically start TT when checkPOInt is started" also tick "Automaticall stop....."

click OK,

click on Overlay settings, you should get the lists of POIs in your GB folder, highlight the speed camera one, click on properties, and select when you want to hear a tone and a tone, you can use your own or you will find some alarms in the Windows folder.

You need to have loaded the OV2 and BMP files from the speed camera database on this site into the Great Britain folder, usually located on the CF/SD card. You have done this haven't you...?

Also you won't see them unless you have chosen to see then in the properties option of TT3.

have ov2, what is bmp?
have 'checkpoint' as assignable in poi, but not 'speed/safety camera'
which is the camera software you suggest.
should i pay for poi warner?

million thanks,
jon.

You need to download the speed camera database from here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php and copy the ov2 file and bmp file to the Great Britain directory on your CF/SD card. (the bmp file is the picture of a camera that comes up when you check the speed camera poi in properties.)

Once you have the database of speed cameras loaded then you use checkPOInt to tell you when you are approaching them. You have to load the database first, that is why you are having problems. CheckPOInt is an excellent programme, I have never had need to load POIwarner. You will still need to load the Camera database anyway.

Forget any CheckPOInt pois at the moment, you can record POIs for example if you see a speed camera not in the database, but that is beyond you at the moment!!

From the latest database you need to load the OV2 and BMP files for the "gatso" and the "red light" files. these will be two seperate sets of POIs in the TT3 properties.

steve, i feel that EVERYTHING is beyond me at the moment!
checkpoint was installed first.
downloaded av2's, (they're there) ticked add bmp if a/v, no icons, no warnings.
you're a very, very nice man.

I never said AV files, I said OV2 files. You must load the OV2 files and the BMP files into the "Great_Britain Navigator Map" folder which is probably loaded on your memory card.
