I am trying to do this :
In ActiveSync click EXPLORE, MY POCKET PC, STORAGE CARD, GREAT_BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP
Copy the POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP to the \STORAGECARD\GREAT)BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP directory and overwrite any files you may have.
but the pc or the AXIM X5 is not having it...
Please let me know if you know the answer.
Thanks

If the files are already on the Axim:
This may sound obvious but have you gone to the File Explorer on the Axim and selected one of the files held the stylus down on it and waited for the popup window to come up, then selected "Cut". Then go to the directory that you are trying to place the files in and hold the stylus down and wait for the popup and select "Paste".
Then you can repeat for the second file.
This takes into considerration that you have already transferred the files to your axim using ActiveSync.
If it is an issue with getting the files to the Axim from your PC then open your MY Computer and select the files, then right click and "cut" them. Open the Explore window in ActiveSync and go to the desired directory, right click and then "Paste". This is bearing in mind that you have an live ActiveSync connection (Green round icon in the taskbar). _________________ Beefy

Went in Programs, then select File explorer,Mydevice/SD Card/,
I have then in the card :
Great Britain Navigator has pocket gps _continental ,Pocketgps_gatso,Pocketgps_uk_redlight and the bmp files also.
Still nothing seems to work on the Axim X5 .
I would appreciate it very much if someone showed me how to do this correctly
thank you |

I take it you have the software installed on your sdcard alreadY? sounds like you dont have?
Also, you will probably find it easier to use active synchs explorer rather than navigate on the pda.
Also, you really ought to use COPY rather than CUT, otherwise the files will "dissapear" from the original location, you can of course delete these at a later date if required.
Can you post exactly what you did/installed already, and ahwt you need to do. I have TT3 on an X5 with various other bits & pieces no problem. |

Right these are the steps and contents on the Axim X5
I go into Programs /File Explorer and this is what I have in that folder;
Built In storage
ConnMgr
Profiles
Program Files
SD Card
Temp
Tom Tom
Windows
TomTom Navigator
Then when I click on SD Card to highlight the contents this comes :
DCIM
Great Britain
I click on Great Britain and comes a list :
cline
cname
cnode
faces
Great_britain
Great_Britain
mapinfo
poi
tmccodes
tmcpaths
traffic
i followed the instructions given on the site for gps database on how to install this but never worked
thanks for your help |

It's because you still haven't copied the files to the storage card.
You need to browse to that SD\Great Britain directory and then copy the .ov2 and .bmp files INTO this directory.
Your list above shows they're not IN the Great Britain directory.
I suspect they are still in \SD or you have copied them to another directory. |
