|
|
So I am one of the many unlucky who tried to upgrade their Belkin/Fortuna firmware unsuccessfully. I was able to try about 3 times until the "Link to Fortuna GPS" button stopped lighting up. I have tried: leaving the battery out overnight, switching between ST and back to XT, and the flash memory erase "paper clip" trick.
My question is whether or not I am doing the erase correctly. First I remove the battery, then I place electrical tape over the battery contacts, then I stick a paper clip into the 2nd to last holes from the outside of each end, then I plug in the GPS to power it up. Here is where I find strangeness, I get no light on the GPS when the holes are shorted. I try hooking up, but nothing. I can still hook up through bluetooth though.
If anyone has any ideas for me they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! _________________ Get a FREE iPod: http://FreeiPods.herefishy.net/

Exactly the same symptoms. Numerous emails to Fortuna tech support have gone unanswered. If I hear anything, I'll let you know....

Me too.
Flashed one with no problems.
Belkin 2 Link only works in st mode.
xt mode is stuffed. |
