I have my CP5 set up using a Seidio amplified mount, but want to suppress guidance when talking on my mobile.

There doesn't seem to be a single press function within CP5 to achieve this? If not, does anyone know of a small utility that mutes/unmutes sound that I could associate with a button on the PDA?

Cheers, Peter

I just switch my iPAQ off, then back on when I'm ready - seems to resume quite happily. It also "remembers" a trip if I have had to do a soft-reset, which is quite handy, as I too have experienced lockups after having the audacity not to follow its directions.

Yes, CP5 copes very well with the iPaq being switched off and on again in mid-journey. I also have an amplified Seido mount and just use its volume control.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine is not so resilient to switch-offs, perhaps as I'm using a GPS jacket?

Also, where I have the Seido mount fitted its not that easy to reach the volume control, and as it distorts easily (does yours?) I prefer to leave it at the max acceptable setting. There must be a simple app somewhere that mutes - there are plenty of utilities that offer the function, but hidden down menus and I'm not very good at juggling a stylus and the steering wheel!

Cheers, Peter

Fortunately, I can reach the volume control quite easily. I normally have it turned up as high as it will go, so it is easy to find the correct level again after using it for muting!

If no one is able to suggest a utility to do just what you want, you could use something like ButtonMax to program a macro onto a button. I use such a macro within CoPilot to record the current position.

Try any record a macro to one of your buttons.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I've tried recording a mute macro in buttonmax for use within CP5, but it has no effect on my Ipaq 5450, although the program works fine for application launching. Has anyone been more successful?

Thanks, Peter

Try associating the macro with a button in the Default profile rather than the CoPilot profile. I don't know what it is about these programs, but I found I had take this approach both with SmartST and with CoPilot.
