TomTom for Smartphone and the Congestion Charge

I've not been reading the TT GO threads but I've just noticed one that seems to imply that the GO does not support the Congestion Charge. Since the Smartphone version uses a common software base is Congestion Charge support missing from the Smartphone version too?

TomTom Mobile has exactly the same functionality as the GO and Palm Platforms therefore it does not support the Congestion Charge warning and aviodance that TomTom 3 does.

Sorry if this is going over old ground but it seems like one of the most remarkably stupid ideas going to remove functionality.

Strictly speaking they havent removed any functionality. There are 2 development threads one for the PPC and one for everything else. Whilst the PPC (TT3) version was being developed the new Common Navigation Engine software was being created. This is a completely new code base so has little or no links to the TT3 version.

For the UK the main functionality missing from the GO/Palm/TTMobile is the Congestion charge, and the Traffic plugin. There are other areas that are not fully available, but these are the main ones.
