First of all, I want to say a big 'thank you' to Niels for UK Postcode, it's fantastic!
But I've got a quick question - I've just installed it for the first time (installation worked flawlessly) using the full database download ('first time' installation) from the Digitools website.
Whenever I enter a postcode and show it on the TT3 map, it's never actually on a road, and usually 100 - 200 metres out. I saw a thread on here that talked about this (something to do with using OS grid references), but I thought this was fixed?
Or is this normal behaviour due to the fact that several buildings can share the same postcode? If so, I would have thought it would have at least located you on a road though, rather than 100 - 200 metres behind the road? If the location it finds is between two roads, it makes it difficult to see which road the postcode is supposed to be on, if you see what I mean! Because if you select 'Navigate To', TT3 just 'snaps' to the nearest road when your destination is not actually on a road.
Thanks very much - and thanks again to Niels for a fantastic free product!
Thanks for clearing that up. I agree, it's not too much of a problem to amend manually on the Navigator map. It only really causes a problem if the position it finds is 'off-road' i.e. between two roads. Although it may only be 100m out, it could be enough to make it difficult to see which road it's supposed to be on.
But if you've got a postcode, then you've usually at least got a road name as well, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem!
