i think i saw somewhere that there was a device that enabled your car radio to receive the voice directions from your gps pda. the sound on my ipaq 3970 is ok intill you get onto the motorway then it gets distorted with the background noise.does anyone have a link?

That'll be the Arkon sound feeder:

http://www.arkon.com/sf.html

This might not be legit in the UK.

I have one, it’s not the best, as it ties up a radio station so you have to be tuned into a frequency (you have a few frequencies to chose) all of the time if you want constant dialog. The reception, in my case is not very good as my car radio antenna is on the rear of the vehicle, so I get poor reception. So I opted for an Arkon powered speaker PDA mount, for my system which is all that I need & dose not tie up my audio system in the car.

You bet,
Turn the volume up & you will now about it. The speaker is built into the back of the unit & has a mini jack plug that plugs into the PDA head phone output. It also has a volume rotary wheel to set how loud you want the sound.
