hey

i own an ipaq 4150 running pocket pc 2003 and im planning to buy gps for it.

Could someone please recommend to me gps mapping software that covers northern ireland and a suitable bluetooth receiver?

I read that navteq do good mapping software but i am unable to find any website that sells the navteq gps maps for pda.

Is navteq manufactured under different names?

thanks
Andy

NAVTEQ are the big ugly guys that produce the maps. The navigation systems in cars or on PDAs have to use this data (or the data from the other big ugly guys TeleAtlas).

So if you buy TomTom then this includes TeleAtlas maps. If you buy CoPilot then this includes NAVTEQ maps etc.

You cannot buy maps directly from NAVTEQ. It would be way too expensive, and would need way too much storage (talk gigabytes). Each data point in NAVTEQ maps has about 160 attributes, and navigation programs but not more than 20 of those for compilation into the maps that end up in the consumer product.

yes, at the time of writing this CoPilot seem to have the newest maps and thus the best coverage.

By the way, CoPilot comes bundled with a BT receiver ;-)
