Hi all!!

I cant seem to now get the 2 to connect through BT.

Any help would be welcome

Thanks

What application are you using to access the GPS?

Hi Darren

I will reply on behalf of my colleague who has the new Orange PDA.

The application is Windows 2003 although the bt part is a lot different from my 4150. Instead of tapping to 'connect' to the fortuna as per 4150, I presume you have to just let the bt manager find and connect to the device.

What is strange is that it 'discovers' the fortuna but it just wont connect. Reading through various forums about the XDA last night, it seems users were also having problems with them. We downloaded a couple of ROM upgrades but they didnt work.

Just to let you know, we spoke to Orange who hadnt got a clue!!

Rich

There appears to be some confusion here, when I asked what software was being used I meant what GPS software?

I use an XDAII (identical to the m1000) and so long as the BT GPS is bonded correctly, launching a GPS app configured to use the BT Com Port will automatically connect to the BT GPS.

I'm trying to use an Orange M1000 withe a globalsat BT-308. I can bond the 2 but that's as far as it goes. I'm using the GPS software that came with the BT-308 & TT3 neither will link the 2. I've done this with my Ipaq 2215 and all is well. The BT manager isn't the same on the M1000 as the 2215.

I'm not sure what updates Orange have deployed to improve the BT Stack but a solution is available for those versions that don't have the latest BT Stack improvements here.

The above program worked, although my M1000 is now down to a crawl.
Can I now uninstall it?

Not without losing the BT functionality. It's widely used and I've heard no problems with it slowing things down, have you tried a soft reset?
