Hi All,
I'm new to all this GPS stuff so sorry if this has been covered already.
I have just bought an Ipaq 4150 and TT3 with BT.
I was going to buy the TT carkit but notice it does not have vent mounting
Are there any other products out there that will charge both the Ipaq & BT GPS while being mounted on the vents at about the same price or under the TT kit?
I have had a quick google but not found anything up to now that does it all.
Cheers

If there is no all-in-one solution can anyone let me know what cable i would need to buy to power both the GPS & the IPAQ in 1 cable.
Also what vent mounts are good.
Thanks

I have a IPAQ 4150 & BT TOMTOM GPS Reciever.
I have gone for a Brodit Vent Mount Pro Clip & Brodit Passive Mount.
For power I have bought 2 IPAQ Incar chargers, One for the IPAQ 4150 and the other for the IPAQ 36xx Series as this powers the TOMTOM.
I don't make massive 5 hour journeys so battery power is fine for both devices but I have the option of pluging in if needed. I really hate cables every where.
Anyway to answer your question, Brodit do several Active Mounts but I don't think any of them will power the tomtom at the same time.
I think what you will have to do is buy the tomtom car kit then but a Brodit Vent Mount Pro Clip and bolt the Car Kit to it. This will give you power for both devices and a vent mount solution.
Try Chetan at Handnav.com for the bits.

Thanks for the reply & info Si.
Done a bit more searching today and come across this gem:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=24230
Only thing is it mentions an extra cable is required to power the gps.
I got a cable with the tomtom gps (it has a rj11 type plug on the end)
would that cable be enough?
Just doing more searches to find the best price for this unit.
Looks good and is all in one which is what i am really after.
Also has anyone got one of these and what are they like?
Thanks

I would be interested in finding out which mount you chose, because I will have my Ipaq 4150 and BT Tom Tom on Saturday, but without a mount.
I would ideally like a suction mount, and it needs to be fitted to a new type Audi A3.
I have done a bit of research and just get more and more confused. |
