Elementary Question - Sorry!!

For years I have been an avid GPS user and have concentrated on Pocket PC related stuff. So I thought it was time to buy a BT receiver and bought the Crux II. As anyone in this forum can attest, it has awesome sensitivity. However, I am embarrassed to admit that until I got the receiver I was unaware of EGNOS etc. I have now carried out some quick research and if I have understood things correctly, I have the capability of far more accurate fixes than ever before. So if I use Crux-View to turn on "Auto", is this all there is to it? Is the extra differential processing carried out within the unit or is there a "catch" whereby I need to do something with the iPAQ? It all seems too easy!!!

The iPAQ doesn't know about EGNOS (and it doesn't care). Switching the receiver to Auto enables the reception of the EGNOS signals. Now all that's left is for EGNOS to actually work... which seems to be no easy feat...

Anyway, standard road navigation doesn't need the added precision. It's more useful for surveying purposes and for air travel
