I remember new council offices being built in a town where I once lived and when the new mainframe computer arrived, it wouldn't fit through the doors.
...and nowadays, there's far more computer power at everybody's fingertips than there ever was on the Apollo missions which took man to the moon _________________ Andy

we had one of those too with the "paddle" that was a circle you could only turn left and right. the grandstand one we had reckoned it had 15 games built in! each game actually had a different name BUT it was just different size 'bats' and some of them had a line down the middle of the screen to make things more interesting...!

Those were the days when you used to have to speak and interact with other people instead of sitting on your **** sending another inpersonal e-mail
As Peter Kay says... Quote: | we used to have to load up the dishwasher - by hand
we had to manage with a car each
all we had was Sky digital |
This is how much things have changed in our lifetimes, so you can imagine how people felt in the industrial revolution and when things like electricity was introduced into homes _________________ Andy

Mac vs PC
Quote: | “If we’re going just by what’s better—the ages-old Mac-vs.-PC debate is over. Long over. Yell it from the rooftops; The Mac has won.” Now’s the right time “to buy an Apple computer,” proclaims Manjoo. “Indeed, it’s been that time for the past five years.” After all, “its Macintosh business is now in league with that of the biggest PC companies in the world.” And “everyone who’s used it agrees that Leopard, the operating system that Apple released late last month, is to its chief rival, Microsoft’s Windows Vista, roughly as Richard Wagner is to Richard Marx.” |

If you are starting from scratch then a MAC would be the sensible choice today. But if you already have a significant investment in "can't live without" applications for Windows - then the cost equation is very different. _________________ Phil |

Oh dear, Dennis, what's making you change your signature to say this:
Quote: | Urgently needs a new, easy compo. |
I said in an earlier post that I'd give you a hand if you needed help with your MacBook.
I'm sure that if I can convert my parents from Windows to Mac OS X, I should be able to help somebody who's significantly more computer savvy _________________ Andy

Same reason why my sinature says
Quote: | v.SORE LOOSER! Wasn't in the bag |
See this example of fair judging in the logo compo.
