The one and only time Lutz graces this forum and I don't get it. I've been looking for a lot longer than 30 seconds and unless it's because it's a Garmin screen on a TomTom case, I'm going to have to watch this thread until somebody gives me a clue (I don't know what the ONE LE screen looks like and I've only ever seen one Garmin running). It's the penalty you pay for letting stupid fat old men like me into the site. _________________ Dennis

A clue, look close at the screen - it is possible to get a TomTom to display a screen image like that but not straight out of the box, Dennis you have used a Garmin. as has Anita (but your i3 wouldn't help with this one)
Is this the Nuvi TomTom One Third Edition ? - Mike |

Aw C'mon!! Anita and I are from the previous school where we didn't do subtle.
It looks very much like the Garmin Nuvi 660FM I had for ONE SINGLE SOLITARY DAY, for goodness sake and I've no idea how to get a TomTom to look like that, except by pasting a Nuvi screen over it.
Anita be firm with them. Say GRRRR to them and make them behave. They're all laughing at us.
I can understand some of the irresponsible Moderators behaving badly, but you'd think Team Members would have a more responsible outlook. GRRRR! _________________ Dennis

You can find the Nuvi mode on the unit and get a display like this one I took a couple of minutes ago using my 720, it is not difficult:

These youngsters today have no respect for their elders, Dennis!
Actually, I should have noticed that it says "Arrive at Best Buy on right". I assume all TomToms are the same as the 720 and don't give you useful information like which side of the road your destination is on as you arrive. _________________ Anita

So we got wound up by the children, Anita. And Bestbuy have a plonker working for them.
If you put a house number in, the 720 WILL tell you left or right, insofar as it does the arrow leading there with a left or right kink pointing at where the house is (with the proviso that it's a calculated location based on number 1 being at this end and number 51 at the other end, so it guesses how far apart they all are - number 25 being half way along on the left. Unconventional numbering systems, like 1-50 consecutively on the left and 51-100 consecutively on the right might wreak havoc). _________________ Dennis

Yeah but the nuvi also shows a picture of the front door for recognition purposes. |
