Yes, trafficmaster does give delay info. Usually in a range as it comes up on the late 2006 COMMAND satnav on the mercs. It will say something like 'j1 to j2 slow moving traffic 5miles 10 to 12 minutes# and will give a colour coding on how serious the incident is. yellow for slow moving, red for tailback. and the little yellow and red cars line the length of the TMC report. There are also icons for crash or roadblocks or just traffic.

In fact time delay on TMC came up in the previous COMMAND generation satnavs too - from 51 plates.

Oh I wonder if that is the colour of the road information. In the picture the section of the road was marked Red, will have to play some more and see if the road changes colour depending on the incident.

On another note I was looking at the www.roadtour.co.uk software last night which only works with Garmin. However I have had this reply from them today;

"Thank you for the enquiry. Currently the only platforms supported are Garmin
and Windows Mobile, however we are working on support for other platforms
including yours and expect developments in the next six months. Sorry to
disappoint you for now"

Any chance of a pic of the dash mount alone and also with the unit fixed if you get chance at any time? Really appreciate it if you can help!

Have taken a few snaps of the GPS in place, unfortunately it was quickly getting dark so they are not the best of pictures. I tried the flash and they came out even worse Sad

The GPS text looks fuzzy but that's because the camera was focusing on the speedo. I tried to take the pictures from the drivers POV and that's the location where I normally have the GPS so myself and the passenger can see it.

Thanks jonandmarkuk but I hoped to see the dash mount (not window mount) you have mentioned

However, the window mount looks smaller than the 7110 one, which is an improvement, and looks great in situ from your photos. Night mode looks good too

Oh the dash mount isn't much to look at. It's simply a disk which can be stuck on the dash somewhere and then the mount would attach to it. Once attached the GPS can rotate fully to be the correct way up.

I'm still not certain how the night / day mode changes as last night when I took the pictures it was only as dark as it was from the rain clouds.

Oh not that it's much but today I just discovered there is no need to press the 'Start Navigation' button on the summary screen as when the GPS detects your moving it switches to Navigation automatically.

when you say navigation, do you mean just a map showing you move across the map without a route? does the view differ when driving without a route?

No I meant on the route summary screen, where it has a button 'Start Navigation' you don't have to press that as it will switch to the route when you start driving. Makes sense as otherwise it defeated the point of the voice address entry.

You can just bring up the map so it shows your position on screen, I think you press options, GPS status then Show on map.

Sorry about the questions - but does it continue to move the map with your position centered? Can i safely assume it gives you the screen as in pic number 46 in your gallery?

Just tested the usage without a plotted route.

From the options you can select show map and then you can either have 2D or 3D and it follows your route. The fixed speed camera alerts still operate in this mode.

thanks John, much appreciated. It's very important to have a good view for me there since I use gpses more as a cartography device rather than a route device. I don't want to make my brain lazy by following directions mindlessly.

Just wonder if you maybe better looking at the cheaper 2110Max similar features but not as expensive. Depends if you would miss Hands Free
